Using loveseat instead of couches can open up spaces at the bottom, so it won't give you the feeling of space being too tight. Adopt large houseplants to make your space look big! Plain rugs without designs actually make your small living spaces appear more wide open, because there's less visual noise. Or you can go colorful with your rug and have a basic coffee table to visually balance things out. Just like the above setting, a basic couch + unique cushions , or vise versa, will make things work.
