Yay! (or Nay!?)
Shoes can be difficult, especially if they happen to be our weakness.
We can be wearing the simplest outfit, and the entire impression can change dramatically with depending on what kind of shoes we select.
That's the power, that a pair of shoes beholds.
However, there can be a point where our closet or shoe rack becomes... too full.
It is time, and let's gather up our courage and face the elimination process.
Yes, each pair of shoes is beautiful and unique, we may feel the need of holding on to 1 pair for each kind of occasion, and maybe same design in different colors just in case.
It doesn't help if we have 50, 100, or 200 pairs of shoes, when it's too many to manager, it's more ideal to downsize than organizing them, even if it's heart-wrenching, for the sake of our mental hygiene.
So how do we make the approach?
In my case, my shoe rack was running out of space, so I kind of had to do it.
Since I had more work shoes than everyday shoes, the work shoes were the ones I worked on.
For example, I had multiple pairs of wedge pumps for work - navy, beige, and black.
It can be very difficult to randomly select which pair(s) to let go by just looking at the shoes, therefore in order to logically downsize the number, I first needed to think about my work outfits.
Now that I have my work clothes as my guidance, I simple chose the pair that would always go with any outfit I pick for the day (black), and let go the other ones that may not go well with some of the outfits (beige), or is a duplicate (navy) of what I'm keeping.
Also, these 2 pairs were a bit too high and my toes would hurt by the end of day.
After giving the above logical thought, this was the pair that I decided to keep. So I've now downsized from 3 to 1, hooray, and repeat the process for other types of shoes accordingly.
If there is a need for more, maybe I'll add another pair of black in different design.
