Bags.
What's your relationship with bags?
If you've been reading this Capsule Wardrobe series, you might have an idea that this article will talk about how to downsize bags.
Before I go into the details, I want to express my understanding for all kinds of needs:
- You have have too many bags in your small space, and want to downsize
- You have a decent amount of space, and have accumulated a lot of bags over many years, and need help with identifying which to let go and what to keep
- You paid a lot of money for the bags and feel that it's difficult to part with them
- You have a lot of bags, don't mind letting go, but need help to see which ones to keep
- You have too many bags, they're your weakness, and you don't plan to let go, but want to read about the process for fun
There are lots of perspectives when it comes to bags, and everyone is right about what they own based on their lifestyles
If you've stopped by to learn about the downsizing process, that's a very courageous move, and if you're not ready, maybe you can apply the tip later on, or on other aspects of your life.
Unlike the clothes/shoes posts (links below), unfortunately I didn't take a before picture of my bags (used to have about a dozen), so I'll only be showing you what I currently have based on my lifestyle.
My bags (as of 2021)
Link to vegan leather backpacks
My office work bag, made out of vegan leather. A very stylish finding I made.
The backpack style is convenient because it keeps my hands free when I walk to train station, carry a cup of coffee or another bag if needed.
The camel color goes well with any of my outfits.
Diaper bag (a bag to hold baby/kids stuff) - I carry essentials for my 6 & 2 yr old when we go out.
(This is a regular women's backpack, but I intentionally chose this style as my version of diaper bag)
I didn't want to go for an ordinary diaper bag because they're usually bulkier and I find having too many pockets is actually more work (experience from my older kid), so I to select a simple backpack, with just enough pockets to separate the essentials.
