When we decide on organizers, we tend to take just the the items + dimension of the organizers into consideration.
When you go out to see for storage units, I suggest taking 1 more idea into consideration, that serves as a great personal touch and brings more joy to you, and that is the idea of visual effect.
There used to be a time where I used plastic bins of different shapes and sizes for pretty much everything (kids toys, clothes that don't fit on hangers, tools, extra kitchen items, etc.) simply because it was easy. However, I never experienced any joy in storing things in plastic bins, because the only purpose is to put things away. As life progressed, I started to switch to baskets and other materials, and realized that I didn't always have to stick with plastic bins.
When I started making switches from plastic to other materials, I started to notice the visual differences. My home no longer looked like a warehouse with plastic bins, but now a little closer to those homemaking magazines, and I began feeling joy with organizing. And slowly, I developed more passion and curiosity on finding storage ideas that not only serves the organizing purposes, but also provide good visuals to my home, that bring happiness when I look at them.
Here is a project I did where I tested different shelving ideas on this table counter.
