Before we begin a workout routine, especially when we've never or haven't done it as part of our habits, it can be very difficult to get motivation to happen.
There are work (job/house), chores, misc daily tasks/errands, and more than enough digital entertainment to keep us distracted.
I've tried adopting a workout routine since teenage years, never lasted more than a week each time, never found a motivation strong enough to hold me though for a lengthy time.
Today, at my mid 30s, I finally found my motivation.
When I was in kindergarten, I used to do gymnastics and have done some performances. As I grew older, those activities were reduced and no longer part of my everyday life by the time I reached adulthood.
Then I got married and had kids, and thought to myself, I now have my body and freedom back, so let me get back into a fitness routine and see if I can do splits and cartwheels like how I used to, who is to say I can't do those when I'm 60?
Wouldn't it be fun to give it a try, and see how long I can stay youthful and agile, than just letting my body helplessly decay?
So, my motivation to a healthy and fit body making, stated out of curiosity.
What was also happening at the same time during the past few years, which became a very surprising and powerful effect, was that I cleared out unnecessary things from my home during my maternity leave, after getting inspired by Marie Kondo's Magic of tidying up.

With less things to manage at home, I had more time, peaceful and calm spaces, which helped me improve my focus with parenting, my work from home, as well as no more excuses to skip exercising.
I finally learned that motivation is not a single actor, but only emerges when you have the the performing crew on the stage.
It finally came to me after I got my home under control, sounds like a lot of work, yes, decluttering home is a HUGE process, it can take weeks, months or even some years. (In my case, 1 year, since my home is relatively small.)
But I kept doing it because I knew the value it brings me at the end of the process was going to be invaluable, and then finally came my reward, which was "easy" motivation.
Homemaking Tips π· talks about it all :)
My home is now free of distractions, so any time I work out, I don't have to worry about pending tasks before/after it, I simply pull out my equipment and get right into it!
See theses posts for some of leg workouts and stretch moves I do:

Here's a before & after of healthy eating and workout
In this post, I'm introducing my exercises with the pull up bar that goes on the door frame.
When I first began the pull up bar, I had no arm strength, so I just hung on the bar, which is still great in giving a good pull and stretch for my back and upper body, especially when I'm on the computer a lot.

So the tip from this post, is that motivation does not take place in the beginning, but is rather our reward, after many trials and errors that become to our success and personal growth.
The beginning is always hard, but the good thing is, once you get started and get into a routine, then everything will only get easier!
Stay tuned for more inspirations!
