Read part 1 here: My Paleo meals (part 1)

Paleo diet is also known as the caveman or stone-age diet, is the kind of food what our ancestors hunted and gathered hundreds of thousands of years ago.
Our bodies, in reality, have not changed so much compared to those times, therefore the closer food choices we have as our ancestors, the happier our gut.

Read this post for why gut health is important: Body 🌷 6: The origin of "good health"

Since I've adopted 16/8 intermittent fasting (fast 16 hrs and eat during 8hr window), which provides merits such as preventing the overuse of my digestive systems, generate autophagy (something that rejuvenates our bodies), I thought I'd do more good for my body and skin by eating Paleo food too.

Choosing this option is also super time saving, because I'm a working from home mom of 2 little boys, and I practically cannot afford any time to lose, so it cuts down cooking my carbs or using other/extra ingredients on my meals.

I find Paleo diet killing 20 birds with 1 stone.

Here are some examples of my take on Paleo eats.

I'd have a bowl at the beginning of my eating window (around 11am) and another bowl at the end of eating window (before 7pm).

Colorful platter

There are different types of nutrition to each kind of color of food, so having various colors will ensure that my body can absorb any nutrition or energy it needs, I just let my gut take care of it.

Pumpkin porridge with salmon.

Salmon for Omega 3.
Pumpkin is full of nutrition and really great for our skin!

And when I order take out, I also do the same, choose the option that's the closet to my usual eats.
This is a bowl of Poke dish.

You may wonder if these dishes are really tasteful or exciting.
My answer is that I do look forward to these meals after 16hrs of fasting period everyday, and though they're as basic as they can get, I couldn't be more appreciative that I get to even eat, with so much ease and freedom of choices compared to our ancestors.

It's all about perspectives.

I've stated in this Joyful Body series, that my goal is to stay youthful and agile as today, even 30 or 40 years from now, so it's like doing a long term research with my own body, which is pretty exciting.

I also know for sure that my body is happier compared to when I used to have 3 meals, with carbs everyday, I feel much cleansed and light, and that's why I'm able to continue with my current choices.

Stay tuned for more inspirations!
