Today, I'm sharing some of my ordinary Paleo diet meals.
The reason that I lean towards Paleo/basic foods, is that it's important to eat to make sure my intestines are well cared for long term health and anti-aging purposes.
Joyful body π· 6: The origin of "good health"
Eating basic meals also saves cooking time, I work from home while watching 2 kids, so being time efficient while being nutrition conscious are the keys. (My kids/husband have regular meals, only I fast.)
My eating window of the 16/8 is between 11am (start) and 7pm (end). I usually have 2 meals, 1st at 11 am, and last one around 6pm to complete by 7pm, and snacks in between.
I'll introduce my meals in this post, and the snacks in the next.
You'll see that the meals are composed of 1 protein + veggies, or I'd combine 2 types of proteins if the portion is small, + veggies, and occasionally add black or white sesame seeds for additional nutrition.
When I eat these foods, I know I'm doing my body a favor but keeping everything simple, so my digestive systems don't feel too much toll when doing their works. When we eat more heavily flavored things, it can actually put more stress on our organs when they try to process those foods. However it doesn't mean I'm being a monk and not enjoy sweet/savory foods, I do kind of "cheat" by having a slice of pizza when my husband orders it occasionally or have a large piece of cake when it's someone's birthday.
I kind of adopt the 80/20 rule here too, as in eating my basic meals 80% (or more) of the time, which is enough to support my goal of staying agile for as long as possible, and 20% (or less) of the time, I can still enjoy guilty pleasure food, otherwise I can easily bounce back and start stress eating.
Stay tuned for more!
