In the previous part, I mentioned that caring for our digestive system is one of the most significant ways to achieve good health. These are the most fundamental and promotive organs, that first formed when organism first came about, therefore it's crucial we take good care of them with a long term vision.
I began my journey to healthy eating, around 2019, simultaneously as I began the living-current (simplified/decluttered life) and exercise routine, because that was the year I gave birth to my last child and wanted to do all the active things I used to be able to do - - like cartwheels and splits.
The importance of caring for my gut was a realization I had, after I've practiced healthy eating, fasting, and workout for about a year. My skin seemed to have rejuvinated like how some of the sources I listened to/read about, my stamina/energy level increased, and I received lots of positive feedback about how I transformed, when I reunited with friends/coworkers after not seeing each other for almost a year due to the 2020 lockdowns.
I wasn't doing this to impress others, but rather to fulfill the curiosity about my own limits, and it just all came out in a very pleasant way.

We all know that we need to eat to survive, but how much of what do we actually need?
For my diet, I just decided to personally explore what my body truly needs.
I started by going low on everything (carb, sugar, salt, cooking oil, snacks, sweets, anything processed/packaged), and keep everything basic (fruits, veggies, meats, dairy), and cooking method from needing to be fried/baked to just steamed/boiled, so yes, pretty much like stone-age diet.
The first thing I noticed was how light my body suddenly turned when I woke up the next day, and when I eat my self-designed basic food, my heart doesn't rush like how I used to with the "normal meals" I was raised and believed in, which is telling me that my body (digestive system and heart) were under quite a lot of stressed from eating "normal" foods all this time, and my body became at ease once I switched to basic foods with basic cooking methods.
This is how I learned that there is such a thing as caring for one's gut, and it brings positive/healthy results to my overall appearance.
Now, don't misinterpret this as me starving my body. I was simply starting out a test how and what my body needs - - too low, I'd feel lack of energy, and too much, my heart will rush, so I'll know what is the right food in the right portion, when I digest comfortably, and feel I have enough power for my workout the next day
So after a year of fasting, workout, and experimenting with my diet, the award goes to - - - basic foodsπ·
I'm planning to continue all these routines for as long as possible, because all of them help me with everyday energy and motivation, so all I see are advantages, and no reason to really stop.
